WEDNESDAY, AUG. 17
RESIDENCE HALL MOVE-IN, RECRUITMENT REGISTRATION AND ORIENTATION
All women participating in Fall Formal Recruitment will move into their residence hall
and check in for recruitment on this day. If your registration is completed by August 7th,
these early move-in arrangements will be made by the Panhellenic Association- please
do not arrange this on your own. Potential members may check- in for recruitment
between 12:00 and 2:00pm.There will be a short orientation for parents/guardians and
another for the students from 4:00-4:45pm.
THURSDAY, AUG. 18
OPEN HOUSE: “ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK, GO GREEK!”
Prospective members will visit all 13 chapters. Each visit will be 25 minutes long. During these visits, prospective members will meet chapter women and be given a brief introduction of the chapter. After the final visit, prospective members will rank the chapters in order of their preference. Through mutual selection between the chapters and prospective members, the next day’s schedules will be determined.
FRIDAY, AUG. 19
FIRST INVITATIONAL ROUND: PHILANTHROPY
Prospective members will visit a maximum of 10 chapters. This round serves as an introduction of
each chapter’s community service and philanthropic initiatives. When the day is finished, the prospective members will rank their preferences.
SATURDAY, AUG. 20
SECOND INVITATIONAL ROUND: SKITS AND HOUSE TOURS
Prospective members will visit a maximum of 6 chapters. Chapter’s women will perform skits for the prospective members to showcase the personalities and talents of the chapter. This round focuses on how each chapter meets the four pillars of the Greek community (service, leadership, scholarship, and sisterhood). Also, prospective members will tour chapter houses or view housing presentations to see what daily life is like living in a sorority. After these rounds, prospective members will rank their preferences.
SUNDAY, AUG. 21
PREFERENCE EVENTS
This is the final round of recruitment, and often the most sentimental for prospective
members and chapter women. Prospective members will visit a maximum of three chapters during the day. During preferences rounds, prospective members learn more about chapter’s traditions and history. This round is intended to provide prospective members and chapter women an opportunity to discuss membership commitment. At the end of the day, prospective members will once again rank their preferences.
MONDAY, AUG. 22
BID DAY
After classes have ended for the evening, prospective members will receive their bids to their new chapter! A professional Greek speaker will give a keynote address as well as other university officials. There will be a formal Panhellenic induction ceremony. After the ceremony, prospective members will head to their new chapters for individual Bid Day events.
